Microsoft Word 1 is an introductory course that helps students create professional-looking documents for personal and professional use. Upon completion, students will learn the basic functions of Word, such as creating a document, formatting, setting margins, and other common functions.
Prerequisite: PC or laptop with camera and microphone, and Microsoft Office 2019 or 365 are required.

There are 3 options available:
- For individuals not interested in pursuing a certificate from Bergen Community College, courses may be taken individually.
- To earn a Microsoft Office certificate from Bergen Community College Continuing Education for Microsoft Office, you must successfully complete all required courses.
- Prerequisites are not required to sit for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification awarded by Microsoft Corporation. When you feel prepared, students must purchase a test voucher, not included in tuition, schedule the exam at an authorized testing center, and pass the exam.
