This is the basic course in the study of mathematics beyond arithmetic. Emphasis is placed on the development and understanding of algebraic skills and their employment with respect to generalization, application, and problem-solving. Topics studied include: Solving Linear Equation, Solving Linear Inequalities, Graphing Linear Functions, Writing Linear Functions, Solving Systems of Linear Equations, Exponential Functions and Sequences, Polynomial Equations and Factoring, Graphing Quadratic Functions, Solving Quadratic Equations. Standardized assessment readiness will be emphasized throughout.
