CD-405 | Basic to Intermediate Blueprint Reading

This 45-hour in depth course is an introduction to reading blueprints and architectural working drawings, understand:

  • How to use scales
  • Read symbols
  • Learn to locate and interpret sections, profiles and cross sections
  • Learn to read and understand schedules, details, notes and more

Textbooks, materials, ID card and exam fees are not included, course texts are located in the college library for student use.

Prerequisites: No Prior Experience Needed

Total Program Hours: 45 Hours

Required Textbook: Print Reading for Residential and Light Commercial Construction, 6th Edition, includes prints, American Technical Publishers.  Books are available at the campus book store. Used books are not recommended. Please bring the course textbook to the first and every class meeting. 

Take CD 405 Basic to Intermediate Blueprint Reading either before or concurrently with CD 582 Construction Estimating Basics – Must be taken either prior to or at the same time as this course.
