The dietary aide works with multiple healthcare team members to provide quality food and nutrition services to their clients. Job duties include delivering food to residents or patient rooms, preparing and serving snacks, and taking inventory of food and kitchen supplies. The dietary aide in a healthcare environment has the added responsibility of being mindful of the unique needs of the clients they serve. Education in safe food preparation through the SafeServ certification course is a mandatory requirement in this program. Additional certifications include American Heart Association Blood Borne Pathogens and Adult Heartsaver CPR.
