Website Design Grades 8 - 12

Website Design Grades 8 – 12 runs from 1PM – 4PM

Learn to make your own personal web page for yourself, a special group or club. Get a basic understanding of the WordPress program. Build the web page with free templates, Gutenburg blocks, Google fonts, Awesome icons and more. Work in teams or on your own—share elements and learn some basic customizations. Class projects focus on logo headers, page sections, headings, subheads, feature copy, sidebars, footing copy and more. Basic computer and mouse skills are required.

After Care

After Care runs from 4PM – 5:30PM

At the end of your child’s daily program, your child may remain on the BCC campus to participate in supervised activities until 5:30 p.m. Your child may enroll in any or all of the weeks during which your child is attending a program. Participants are not permitted to stay on campus following the end of their regularly scheduled day without authorized supervision. A LATE FEE of $50/hour will be charged if the child is not picked up by 5:30 pm.

Before Care

Before Care runs from 7:30AM – 9AM

BCC’s staff ensures your child’s prompt check-in at their regularly scheduled programs. Your child may enroll in any or all of the weeks during which your child is attending a program.

Beginning Sewing Grades 4 - 8

Beginning Sewing runs from 9AM – 4PM in Week 3 and again in Week 5

An introductory class to learn the basics of hand sewing and the endless options of projects to make. A wide variety of topics, techniques and supplies will be explored and using that information we will perform the steps to have your ideas come to a finished project to take home. Students will learn techniques they will carry on to other areas in their daily lives and how valuable this information will be.

Chemical Wizardry Grades 2 - 6

Chemical WIzardry Grades 2 – 6 runs

Week 3 from 1PM – 4PM and Week 5 from 9AM – 12PM

This class is an introduction to the science of chemistry and physics. In addition to learning about atoms, bonding, and the periodic table, you will enjoy making Flubber, Silly Putty, Super Hi- Bounce balls, play dough, Glowing Goo, and even a tie-dye style shirt. Create atomic worm polymers and lava lamp-like blobs. We will also demonstrate the Big Bang Cannon, diet Coke and Mentos Geyser, Magic Genie in the bottle, and more. Most projects will be taken home along with a recipe booklet and mini chemistry kit!

City Art! Grade 4 - 8

City Art! Grades 4 – 8 runs from 9AM – 4PM 

When you walk down the street of the city, do you often wonder how the art on the sides of buildings or sidewalks came to be? Or have you or looked up at the architecture, or a sculpture? Someone designed and created these works of art. Come join us to learn about some of these artists and learn why they left these masterpieces for you to enjoy. We will also create our own masterpieces inspired by some of the works of art we will look at. REQUIREMENT: One white t-shirt, washed, to create something amazing.

Learn in-demand skills like programming events and coding controls for a touch screen or keyboard and mouse. Finish by personalizing levels and characters with your own design. Now you are ready to upload your games to the Black Rocket cloud arcade and play on any mobile device or computer. Games can easily be shared with friends and family!

Cool Tools for the Kitchen Grades 1 - 5

Cool Tools for the Kitchen Grades 1 – 5 runs from 1PM – 4PM

In this fun-filled program, each class kids will learn about and how to use a new kitchen tool! You will use tools such as garlic press; cheese grater; manual juicer; lemon zester; egg/strawberry slicer and mallet too! They will make a variety of fun foods and drinks with these tools to either bring home to cook up or enjoy as a no-bake snack in class. Peanut & Tree Nut Free.

How to Read Music Grades 6 - 8

How to Read Music Grades 6 – 8 runs from 9AM – 12PM

This course will prepare you with a basic understanding of how to read music.  You will learn about the grand staff, rhythm, pitch, time signatures, key signatures, and more!

Improv Workshop Grades 8 - 12

Improv Workshop Grades 8 – 12 runs from 9AM – 12PM

This class is about fun! We use theatre games and physical exercises to teach kids the basics of improvisation. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations as they learn to create characters, build scenes and invent whole worlds without ever using a costume, prop or set piece. You will also practice teamwork and listening skills to help you work as an ensemble and learn the discipline of performance.

K'Nex Amusement Park

K'Nex Amusement Park:

  • WEEK 3: Grades 5 – 7 runs from 1PM to 4PM 
  • WEEK 4: Grades 1 – 3 runs from 9AM to 12PM

Have you ever wondered how they make those incredible rides you see at the amusement park? You will design and build working models of your favorite rides using K’NEX construction systems. Projects will include a motorized swing, Ferris wheel, roller coasters, and others!

Minecraft Redstone Engineers Grades 3 - 6

Minecraft Redstone Engineers Grades 3 – 6 runs from 1PM – 4PM

Take the next step beyond simply “playing” Minecraft and become a true Redstone engineer. Expand your Redstone knowledge by constructing your own carnival with a variety of mini-games, roller coasters, and attractions powered by Redstone. Learn how to use Command and Structure blocks to incorporate them into your builds. Activate your skills and take your Minecraft structures to the next level!

Model United Nations Grades 6 - 8

Model United Nations Grades 6 – 8 runs from 9AM – 4PM

Discover global issues, world diplomacy, and parliamentary procedure through role-playing. You become the delegate of a Model United Nations (UN) to explore ways of solving international crises using critical thinking skills, research, and debate. Gain a global vision of our world by taking part in this simulated UN experience. 

Painting Grades 1 - 5

Painting Grades 1 – 5 runs from 9AM – 4PM

A week of an exploratory class designed to help improve students' basic art skills in painting using acrylic and watercolor painting and blending techniques. Students will focus on creativity and self-expression, and recognize and use the art elements (line, shape, color, value, form). 

Photoshop: Graphic Design Concepts Grades 8 - 12

Photoshop: Graphic Design Concepts Grades 8 – 12 runs from 9AM – 12PM

From logo designs, avatars, cool decals, and any graphic idea, all these designs start with a create sketch and are then created with Adobe Photoshop. Learn to take your ideas and turn them into eye-popping digital art. Use basic image editing techniques to compose, transform, and enhance a variety of digital images into a unique design. Class projects focus on logo designs, avatars, graphic stickers, and more. Basic computer and mouse skills are required.

Pinatas 1-2-3 Grades 1 - 5

Pinatas 1-2-3 Grades 1 – 5 runs from 9AM – 12PM

A traditional art in Spanish culture is piñata making. This messy and long process craft is also fun and creative. This class will teach you the step-by-step process. During the week you will create simple to more complex piñatas. Once finished, projects are taken home for you to enjoy! Note: bring a smock or old t-shirt to use during class. 

Small Plates and Appetizers Grades 5 - 8

Small Plates and Appetizers Grades 5 – 8 runs from 1PM – 4PM

This course will be dedicated to the skills building of appetizer and tapas style cuisine. With fresh ingredients like high quality meats and professional guidance you will be able to produce industry-level cuisine in class!  Focusing on hors d'oeuvres, small bites, tapas, and apps you’ll get an insight into these customer favorites. Next, we’ll head to the Southwest to explore Tex Mex and Latin Cuisine. Prepare dishes such as arroz con pollo and street tacos!  We’ll learn to make authentic dips, including pico de gallo and guacamole.

Smoothies, Parfaits, Acai Bowls Grades 5 - 8

Smoothies, Parfaits, Acai Bowls Grades 5 – 8 runs from 9AM – 12PM

Students will learn the art of crafting fun, nutrient-rich, delicious, and customized smoothies!  Plus,  juices, fruit salads, parfaits, and acai bowls – using fresh ingredients.  Next, let’s all Scream for Ice Cream!  Utilizing ice cream prepared in-house participants will create desserts like ice cream cakes, pies à la mode, ice cream sandwiches, and more. Participants will learn the correct use of pastry bags, basic piping skills, culinary measuring skills, and introductory decorating.  They will practice some math and engineering, as they mix and measure, assemble and create! 

Spanish Multicultural Experience Grades 7 - 11

Spanish Multicultural Experience Grades 7 – 11 runs from 9AM – 4PM

Kids will develop a knowledge and understanding of Spanish culture through interactive projects based on the highly awarded cultural film “Encanto”.

Star Wars and Lego Pirates

Lego Pirates and Star Wars runs: 

  • Week 3: Grades 1 – 4 from 9AM – 12PM 
  • Week 4: Grades 5 – 7 from 1PM – 4PM

Have fun building vehicles and other artifacts related to pirates and the Star Wars collection.

Super Science STEAM Challenges Grades 2 - 6

Super Science STEAM Challenges Grades 2 – 6 runs:

WEEK 3 from 9AM – 12PM and WEEK 6 from 9AM – 12PM

In this engineering camp, you will have fun integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics by building and designing a wide range of gadgets, inventive machines, towers, crazy contraptions, and more. Projects include: The Great Tower Challenge, Wooden Coaster Challenge, Structural Engineering Challenge, Egg Drop, Magnificent Marble Machine, and a host of other fun contests designed to bring out the engineer in you!

Theater Workshop Grades 4 - 6

Theater Workshop Grades 4 – 6 runs from 1PM – 4PM

Act out scenes from your favorite plays, musicals, movies, and TV shows!  You will learn about the elements of drama through a variety of games and activities and then apply them to your acting.

Underground Explorers Grades 1 - 6

Underground Explorers Grades 1 – 6 runs from 9AM – 12PM

Kids learn about archaeology and the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities! They discover ancient civilizations and the tools and artifacts they used in everyday life! They also study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, and fossils to understand what they can tell us about history! What's more, each class includes a make and take-home project, like a fossil reproduction, an amber time capsule, and coins from around the world!

Wacky Watts Grades 1 - 6

Wacky Watts Grades 1 – 6 runs from 1PM – 4PM

This camp is extremely electric!! Learn all about electricity, its properties and how we use it every day!! Make indoor lighting as you conduct Hair-Raising experiments and explore the amazing Tesla Coil! It promises to be shocking!!!! Jump in and investigate inertia, gravity, and centripetal force. Let's join Bernoulli and Newton as we look into their work in aerodynamics and the properties of air!!! We will play Mad Science Air Hockey, Generate Vortex generators, and defy gravity as we levitate a ping pong ball!! Don't Crack as we become Under Pressure!!
