3D Video Game Design with Unity Grades 3 – 6 runs from 1PM – 4PM

Are you ready to take your game design skills to another level? With Unity, an industry-grade design software, aspiring game designers will learn level editing, 3D modeling, impactful gameplay creation, as well as how to utilize scripts and variables. Student-created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years.

After Care

After Care runs from 4PM – 5:30PM

At the end of your child’s daily program, your child may remain on the BCC campus to participate in supervised activities until 5:30 p.m. Your child may enroll in any or all of the weeks during which your child is attending a program. Participants are not permitted to stay on campus following the end of their regularly scheduled day without authorized supervision. A LATE FEE of $50/hour will be charged if the child is not picked up by 5:30 pm.

Amazing College Essays & The Common App! Grades 9 - 12

Amazing College EssaysGrades 9 – 12 runs from 9AM – 12PM

Did you know that although crafting your college essays may seem daunting, it’s an amazing opportunity to introduce yourself to college admissions reviewers?  This course is designed to help students tap into what matters most to them and what they LOVE to write about, plus tips and tricks that will make your essay stand out. Participants will also set up their Common App (https://www.commonapp.org) account and learn how to leverage features that make managing college application documentation easier. 

Beats and Jams Grades 3 - 6

Beats and Jams Grades 3 – 6 runs from 9AM – 12PM

Begin your rise to the top of the charts with digital music production! Just like today's top artists, you can design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs to become a digital composer and sound engineer. In this course, students will learn to produce digital music, record sound, make sound effects, and mix their own tracks. No prior music experience is necessary. Student-created soundtracks will be available on a password protected website to share with friends and family.

Before Care runs from 7:30AM – 9AM

BCC’s staff ensures your child’s prompt check-in at their regularly scheduled programs. Your child may enroll in any or all of the weeks during which your child is attending a program.

Cookies and Cake Pops Grades 3 - 5

Cookies and Cake Pops Grades 3 – 5 runs from 9AM – 12PM

Students will design and prepare cookies and cake pops. Participants will learn the correct use of pastry bags, basic piping skills, culinary measuring skills, and introductory decorating skills. Demonstration and practice of various cooking methods while adhering to safe sanitary food handling procedures.

Energetic Engineering Grades 1 - 6

Through a hands-on approach students will learn that anyone, of any age can be an inventor.

Happy Healthy Kids Grades 1 - 5

Happy Healthy Kids Grades 1 – 5 runs from 1PM – 4PM

The fun begins by preparing then assembling some deliciously healthy food in class such as cucumber boats, mudding fruit punch, chopping perfect salsa, stuffing the best strawberries, creating amazing parfaits and so much more! We will be using different kitchen tools and learning a variety of kitchen skills that kids don’t even realize they are learning!

This summer: prepare for your success in Pre-Algebra and Algebra, and beyond! Learn about the tools and practice the skills for success. We will be working with number theory, variables, number sense, basic arithmetic, and vocabulary.

In this class you will be learning basic geometry concepts including properties of angles, triangles and transformations, as well as area and volume.

Loco-Motion Grades 1 - 6

Loco-Motion Grades 1 – 6 from 9AM – 12PM

Do you have the "Wright" stuff? From the earliest flying machines to the first rocket flights, this hands-on program will allow children to build many different flying devices, see how Newton's laws of motion help explain how things move and how rockets fly, and show them how amazing our Milky Way is.

Mini Robotics Grades 1 - 5

Mini Robotics Grades 1 – 5 runs from 9AM – 12PM

Have fun building and creating using your imagination. You will construct a wide range of robot projects throughout the week. Projects will include constructing a Battle-Bot from our Robot modular collection, participating in a robot tug-o’ war, Olympic competition, soccer match, giant ramp race, Mission to Mars Robot Challenge, and more. You will learn engineering principles in a fun, hands-on atmosphere. Additional exploration will take place with several other types of robots that allow for fun robotic exploration and coding! We will explore with NEW Sphero RVR robots, Bolt, Ozobot, Botley, and more. Students will take home a robot.

Pasta Making Grades 3 - 5

Pasta Making Grades 3 – 5 runs from 1PM – 4PM

Calling all pasta lovers! Know how to make fresh pasta by hand? In this course, we will learn all the tips, tricks, and fundamentals to turn you into a regular pasta aficionado. We’ll share, produce, and execute delicious and easy pasta recipes, plus tons of skill sets to make other types of handmade scratch items as well. You will be able to knead, roll and shape pasta learning how to cook and prepare fresh pasta from scratch.

SAT Math Boot Camp Grades 9 - 12

SAT Math Boot Camp Grades 9 – 12 runs:

Studies have shown that the secret to better SAT scores begins with improving math and verbal skills and ends with practice, practice, and more practice. Topics include: test-taking strategies, applicable math skills, concept building, deductive reasoning, practice testing, logical thinking. Required text: College Board Official SAT Study Guide (2020 Edition) (Official Study Guide for the New SAT). Please purchase textbook before the first day of class.

Have fun solving problems using the engineering design process. Each day you will be faced with challenges that require you to design and build the solution. There may be additional challenges along the way!

Vocal Workshop Grades 10 - 12

Vocal Workshop Grades 10 – 12 runs from 1PM to 4PM

This workshop is designed for a moderately experienced singer who wants to learn more about how to control and improve their voice.  You will also learn how to and/or practice the skill of sight-singing. Direction of the workshop will be based on experience and ability. Sheet music will be provided based on interest (i.e. Broadway, pop, choral, opera, etc.)
