The Mortgage Loan Officer Training Program is a comprehensive 48-classroom hour course taught by working professionals and is designed to give you the skills needed to be successful and prepare for the National Mortgage Licensing System exam, NMLS, that is needed to enter the mortgage banking workforce. The state of New Jersey, along with many other states, requires mortgage professionals to be licensed. Course topics include mortgage basics and terminology, NMLS required federal and state training (NJ), customer qualifications and credit analysis, lending guidelines and procedures, and the mortgage process (prequalification to post-closing). Training also includes real-world expectations such as “A Day in the Life of a Mortgage Loan Officer,” job expectations, and responsibilities.
