The Building Inspector RCS course is a 90-hour New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA)-approved training program that provides the foundational knowledge required for licensure as a Residential and Commercial Structures (RCS) Building Inspector under New Jersey’s Uniform Construction Code. Students learn how to perform plan reviews, conduct field inspections, evaluate structural systems, apply code requirements, and document inspection findings. This course prepares participants to inspect Class III structures and serves as the first step in the Building Inspector licensing sequence.

This course is designed to help prepare students for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Building Inspector RCS Licensing Examination. The licensing examination is administered separately. Exam fees are not included in course tuition.
