Intermediate Sewing I builds on foundational sewing skills by introducing students to intermediate garment construction techniques and professional finishing methods. Through hands-on, project-based learning, students will develop proficiency in zipper installation, pocket construction, lining techniques, and the assembly of a fully lined unisex vest. Topics include:

• Interpret commercial sewing patterns, including grainline alignment, layout, pinning, cutting, and pattern marking techniques.
• Apply safe equipment use, fabric preparation, seam construction, grading, and professional pressing methods.
• Construct garment details including lapped and centered zippers, patch pockets, and in-seam pockets using industry-standard techniques.
• Assemble a fully lined unisex vest and develop a portfolio of skill samples demonstrating intermediate garment construction techniques.

Textbooks, materials, ID card and exam fees are not included.
