This 460-hour course provides students with the theoretical and practical skills to decontaminate, sterilize, prepare, assemble, and dispense surgical and procedural instruments. Upon completing the 60-hour theory portion, students will continue their studies by working in the clinical setting for a required 400-hour clinical (non-paid) internship. The “hands-on” workplace experience (400 hours) at a local medical center and/or surgical center is required to be eligible to sit for the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) examination administered by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM). Classes are Hybrid, with the first class in person. Day classes run Tuesday from 9 am to 4 pm, and evening classes run Tuesday and Friday from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. Books are not included in the tuition.
