In today’s health care environment, nursing assistants are responsible for caring for clients who are receiving advanced care in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, sub-acute care facilities, assisted living facilities, and private residences. This 90-hour course will combine theory and laboratory skills to provide proficiency and confidence when caring for clients who have complex care needs. Students will practice advanced skills in the laboratory and use simulation/skills manikins to obtain competence and confidence in providing acute care. American Heart Association, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS/CPR) certification is included in this program. The use of a scrub uniform is highly recommended for this course and can be purchased in any color for this class. Participants in the BCC HH 772 Certified Nursing Assistant program are encouraged to utilize the BCC scrub set uniform issued for this course.
