This 40-hour course is available in daytime and evening sessions. The daytime class runs from 10am to 3pm, in person from Monday to Thursday. The evening meets two nights per week for one month, with one in-person session and one online session each night from 5pm to 10pm.
This course prepares students to enhance job skills and performance in hospitals, cardiology offices, cardiac rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and continued care facilities. Proper 12 lead ECG electrode placements, performance, troubleshooting technical problems, and application of a 24-hour Holter Monitor will be practiced. Recognition of normal and abnormal tracings, medical terminology, and medical abbreviations applicable to ECGs will be discussed. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified EKG/MonitorTechnician (CET) examination. Books are not included in the tuition.
