HH-354 | Pharmacy Technician Compounding

This 80-hour course provides technician-focused instruction and training for the successful production of non-sterile and sterile preparations, a significant responsibility of the pharmacy technician in hospitals, long-term care, and other healthcare facilities. This course includes the study of sterile products, hand washing techniques, pharmaceutical calculations, references, safety techniques, aseptic techniques in parenteral compounding, proper use of equipment, preparation of sanitary products, and safe handling of antineoplastic drugs. This critical work requires the mastery of aseptic technique: the procedures that avoid introducing pathogens into sterile products, ensure patient safety, and maintain product consistency. Books are not included in the tuition.
