This course offers an in-depth exploration of the materials and sources employed in residential interior design, with an emphasis on their characteristics, performance standards, fabrication processes, and installation methods. Students will learn how to make informed material selections that balance function, aesthetics, and durability. Topics include:
- Flooring, wall treatments, countertops, ceilings, and millwork
- Doors, windows, moldings, and cabinetry
- Cabinet construction fundamentals
- Kitchen and bathroom planning
