Welcome to Beyond the Bell

Beyond the Bell is Bergen Community College’s expanded After School Enrichment program designed to bring high-quality learning experiences directly to students across Bergen County. Our mission is to help children grow into confident, creative, and community-focused learners by offering programs that nurture curiosity, skill development, and positive values.

Through supportive instruction and engaging activities, Beyond the Bell empowers students to build social skills, enhance academic abilities, and discover new talents in a fun and structured environment.

KT-682 Crayola: Artist’s Passport

Dates: March 6 – May 1
Time: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Grades: 1-6
Tuition: $400 total ($200 student tuition + $200 grant-funded)
Course Hours: 16 hours
Min/Max Enrollment: 6–25 students

Course Overview:
Embark on an around-the-world cultural adventure! Students explore far-off places while learning about the people, traditions, and artistic techniques that define each region. Using Crayola® products, young artists create drums, masks, canvases, gift bags, buses, and more—building a globally inspired art gallery to bring home. Each week features a new hands-on project rooted in the artistic practices of local artisans around the world.


KT-411 Crime Scene Investigation 

Dates: March 6 – May 1
Time: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Grades: 1-6
Tuition: $400 total ($200 student tuition + $200 grant-funded)
Course Hours: 16 hours
Min/Max Enrollment: 6–25 students

Course Overview:
Become a Super Science Sleuth! In this hands-on forensics course, students learn how science is used to solve mysteries. Participants dust and classify fingerprints, test simulated blood samples, examine fibers, analyze handwriting, and use chemistry to identify unknown substances. Each student takes home their own CSI Kit. This course is offered once only—don’t miss it!


KT-003 Garden Arts for Kids Animals! Animals! Animals! 

Dates: March 6 – May 1
Time: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Grades: 1-6
Tuition: $400 total ($200 student tuition + $200 grant-funded)
Course Hours: 16 hours
Min/Max Enrollment: 6–25 students

Course Overview:
Join us for a wild adventure creating art & learning about amazing animals from all over the world! Where do they live? What do they eat? Do they have feathers, fur or camouflage? Painting, drawing, & fun art materials are used to answer these questions & create projects like: King of the Jungle, Whose Tail Is It? Monkey Business, Slithering Snakes, Forest Frogs, Snowy Owl Nooks, Butterfly Gardens, and Desert Dens. New projects every week with fun take-home activity packets too! Let your inner artist go wild!


What We Offer

Our After School Enrichment program provides a wide range of classes for students in grades one through twelve. Sessions vary by season and school location. Examples of offerings include:

Each class is developed to build confidence, stretch creativity, and help students explore new interests in a safe, supervised environment.

Both programs begin June 29. Registration is opens February 1, 2026.
